Rehnstrand, 65, is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly being in a position of authority and engaging in sexual penetration with a person at least 16 years old but less than 18, and because the defendant is more than 48 months older than the victim. Rehnstrand sat in the Hennepin County courtroom Wednesday morning while his Minneapolis defense attorney, Robert Paule, and Hennepin County prosecutor Elizabeth Cutter met with Judge Philip Bush in his chambers. When the parties came into the courtroom Paule said the hearing had been continued until December 2. Cutter declined comment. Accused Superior educator speaks about sex assault allegation (11/18/08) Jason Kedl A high school teacher in south-central Minnesota who was arrested in a child pornography investigation has pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing pornography. Jason Kedl, 37, resigned from his teaching job at Red Rock Central High School in Lamberton before entering his plea, which was part of a deal with prosecutors. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 24 in Redwood County Court. The plea deal calls for a sentence of 120 days in jail, no contact with anyone under 18 and other restrictions. Red Rock teacher pleads to porn charges (11/16/08) Joseph Ferarro The trial of a former Mora High School, Minnesota, math teacher accused of showing pornographic images to one of his female students has once again been postponed – this time until Jan. 26 due to at least one of the prosecution’s witnesses having a scheduling conflict. Joseph Ferarro, a resident of Rush City, was accused back in January of engaging in multiple, sexually-explicit conversations with one of his high school students and of on at least two occasions showing the same student pornographic images stored on his school-issued computer. Ferarro was due in court to face the charges last week, on Oct. 27. The trial’s latest postponement is the fourth in as many months after originally being scheduled to begin in June. Ferraro was put on administrative leave immediately after the allegations were brought forward, and he later resigned his position with the school district. Three of the four images Ferraro was originally accused of showing the student have been thrown out by a judge during pretrial proceedings for not meeting Minnesota’s definition of pornography as defined by statute. Ferraro is not without his supporters. More than 30 witnesses have been subpoenaed to testify for the defense - including both teachers and students at Mora High School. Dion, the Sibley County Sheriff's department says it received a report of an ongoing sexual relationship between a school official and a 16-year old juvenile female back on September 29th of this year. Monday the department arrested Kevin David Jones of Gaylord. Jones is the transportation director and not a teacher. Authorities are charging him with five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Assistant Sibley County Attorney Don Lannoye says, "That's the most serious sex offense that there is in Minnesota. Those allegations have been made alleging numerous sexual encounters between the defendant and the victim."According to the criminal complaint, Jones and the student started their relationship by just talking, texting, and e-mailing in the summer of 2006. The student told authorities she spent almost every day at the bus garage where Jones works in 2006 and 2007. Sibley East School Official Charged with Sexual Misconduct (10/29/08) Charles Dunbar A volunteer girl’s soccer coach at Proctor High School was being transported to Miami today to face federal charges that he distributed child pornography over the Internet. Charles Dunbar, 29, of Iron River, coached at Proctor the past three soccer seasons and was going to coach this season until accused of a crime. He is charged in U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida with transporting by interstate commerce visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Proctor Superintendent of Schools Diane Rauschenfels said there is no evidence that any of the girl soccer players were victimized by Dunbar, but staff members from the Program for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault will be available to the girls for counseling on Wednesday. Volunteer soccer coach charged with distributing child porn (09/05/08) Lori Schulz Lori Ann Schulz, 33, a former band teacher at Marshall Middle School and Junior High School in Marshall, Minnesota has been charged on allegations of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old female student. It is alleged that Schulz had sexual contact with the girl, who was a junior high band member, from January to May of 2003. 35-year-old Nathan P. Antrim was sentenced to 365 days in the workhouse after Antrim pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He will get credit for 53 days served. The criminal complaint said the girls' father became suspicious and brought his concerns to school officials
Former Cooper hockey coach gets year in workhouse (07/03/08) Lori Ann Schulz Lori Ann Schulz, 33, of Faribault pleaded guilty to the charge with an Alford Plea. Under an Alford Plea, Schulz does not admit her guilt but says based on the evidence, a jury could find her guilty of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old female student, from January to June 2003 in Marshall, court records said. A charge of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree was dismissed. Schulz was the victim's band teacher, court records said. The victim read her victim impact statement in court last week. "I don't remember most things from my eighth- and ninth-grade year, but I do remember what you did to me and how much it hurt me," the victim said, a copy of the transcript of the statement said. Schulz received a stay of imposition on a sentence and must serve 90 days in jail. Schulz must pay a $500 fine, with $250 of it stayed, have no contact with the victim or the victim's family and follow other conditions. A former Cass Lake-Bena Middle School teacher pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges in a case in which he sent pornographic pictures of children back and forth on the Internet to other people.
In Beltrami County District Court, Eddie Eugene Himes, 65, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty to four counts of felony possession of child pornography and one count of felony dissemination of child pornography. His sentencing was set for July 21.
Himes, who was an emotional and behavioral disorders teacher at Cass Lake-Bena Middle School, resigned from his position March 13.

A teacher in the Montgomery-Lonsdale School District has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a former student and player for the girls high school teams he has been coaching.
Troy Michael Bernard, 35, was arrested at the district’s high school, where he was supervising open gym, just after 8 p.m. Tuesday. He was charged in Le Sueur County District Court with first-degree criminal sexual conduct Wednesday and remained jailed Wednesday.
He’s accused of sexually assaulting a girl several times since she was 14 years old, including once in a storage room on school grounds. It was not clear Wednesday if Bernard would be allowed to return to teaching and coaching at the school. Ray Farwell, school district superintendent, did not return several phone calls to his house and office Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Timothy Alan Bowland, 39, Rush City, high school social studies teacher and varsity wrestling coach, appeared in court for the first time Tuesday, following allegations of sexual assault by a 17-year-old female student.
According to Rush City School District Superintendent Vern Koepp, the district was first made aware of an allegation by a student last Thursday afternoon, Jan. 17. The district contacted the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Department of Education immediately.
According to the criminal complaint, the original allegation was made to the principal and a high school counselor by a friend of the victim. She informed the staff members that the victim confided in her that Bowland had engaged in sexual contact with her.
