A former Pinedale High School agriculture teacher has been sentenced to 10-to-15 years in prison for having sexual relations with a teenage female student.

Thirty-five-year-old Shawn Jeter pleaded guilty Tuesday in Natrona County District Court to third-degree sexual assault and indecent liberties with a minor. Authorities say Jeter had sex multiple times with the Pinedale High student.

The Natrona County case against Jeter began in March 2007 when another student reported seeing Jeter kiss the girl at a school facility in Casper during a school function. Jeter has also been convicted of sexual assault in Sublette and Converse counties in cases involving the same student. He was sentenced to 15-to-20 years in prison for those cases. The sentences are to be served concurrently.
