A former teacher at the North Coast Christian School in Hammond has been accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student.

Warrenton Police officers arrested Jeremiah Gunner Scott, 26, of Warrenton. He was also a youth pastor for Warrenton First Baptist Church. Scott is charged with eight counts of third-degree rape, a felony, and one count each of third-degree sodomy, a felony, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and sexual misconduct.

He faces from 90 days to four years in prison for the third-degree rape charges, according to Ron Brown, Clatsop County's chief deputy district attorney. Brown said results of Scott's psychosexual evaluation - should he agree to take one - or whether more victims come forward would be circumstances that sway the length of Scott's sentence, should he be found guilty.

A Central Catholic High School girls track coach is accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl after a private strengthening workout Friday and then chasing her down when she said she was going to report it to her parents.

Askia Brown, 33, faces allegations of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse. He was arraigned Monday in Multnomah County Circuit Court and is being held on a $10,000 bond.

The girl's father attended the arraignment and said he was speaking out about the case because he wanted other parents to be aware of what occurred. His daughter is not a student at Central Catholic, but had been taking private lessons with Brown for about a month, he said.

Though it's not uncommon for a coach to massage an athlete's muscles, "there's a line that shouldn't be crossed, and apparently he did," the father said.

He applied lotion to the girl's legs and massaged her hamstring area as she lay on her stomach, the affidavit says. The girl told police that Brown's hands went under her shorts, under her underwear and he rubbed her genital area for about 10 minutes. She was scared and didn't know what to do, the affidavit says.

Joseph Tracy Garner, 42, a social studies teacher at Ontario High School in Ontario, Oregon has been arrested and charged with seven counts of online sexual corruption of a child in the second degree.

Garner’s arrest came after a three month investigation which began when a private group conducting an Internet sting operation notified authorities that a person had used MySpace to contact and initiate explicit and, at times, graphic conversations of a sexual nature with a purported 13-year-old Oregon girl who was in reality a trained adult decoy.

It is further alleged that Garner tried to arrange a physical meeting with the girl for the purposes of having sexual contact.

Oregon State Police were allegedly able to trace the internet communications back to Garner’s account. It has also been reported that during one of the online conversations that Garner sent a school picture of himself to the decoy.

A former Mount Angel teacher was sentenced Monday to 180 days in jail and five years of probation for kissing a 14-year-old student, officials said.

Colby Lee Molan, 36, of Keizer entered a guilty plea on one count of third-degree sex abuse in Marion County Circuit Court, said Marion County Deputy District Attorney Brendan Murphy.

A second charge of third-degree sex abuse involving the 14-year-old and a charge of official misconduct were dropped as part of the plea bargain, Murphy said. The official-misconduct charge involved consensual sex with a student who was 18 at the time. Molan will have 21 days to appeal the decision through a hearing, but if the appeal goes uncontested, the license revocation will go into effect by the commission's next meeting, Hanson said.

Another day, another perverted teacher, or in this case a teacher's assistant.

Roxanna Guadalupe Mata, 23, works at Armand Larive Middle School. Hermiston police arrested Mata and put her in the Umatilla County Jail, where she remains on a $50,000 bond. The Umatilla County District Attorney's office charged Mata with two counts of sexual abuse II and two counts of rape III. Both are Class C felonies and neither carries mandatory minimum prison sentences.

According to Oregon Revised Statutes, a person commits rape in the third degree if the person has sex with a victim less than 16 years of age. Sexual abuse II is when a person subjects a victim to sexual intercourse or deviate sexual intercourse. It also pertains if the victim doesn't give consent.

Substitute teacher Sarah Jayne Bridges was arrested Friday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m., at the Eugene Police Department, on charges of Rape in the Third Degree, Sodomy in the Third Degree and Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree.  She was lodged in the Lane County Jail.

A complaint was made by Eugene School District 4J to the Eugene Police Department on Friday morning alleging Bridges, 24, had sexual activity with a male student. The complaint alleged Bridges had the encounter in March of 2008, with her former student, who is currently in middle school.  The alleged activity occurred off campus.

The district suspended her substitute teaching privileges upon notification of the allegations Friday. After contacting police, district administrators reported the allegations to the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, the state body responsible for issuing teaching licenses. A conviction on these charges would mean an automatic loss of teaching license.

Former Ashland Daily Tidings Editor Andrew Scot Bolsinger cannot be found at any of the addresses or telephone numbers he has given Marion County court officials while free on $25,000 bail on felony sex-abuse charges, possibly jeopardizing his freedom.

Bolsinger, 41, pleaded not guilty to four counts of second-degree sexual abuse, stemming from alleged sex with a female teenager he met while teaching at a Salem-area academy in 2000. He was fired Feb. 5 from the Daily Tidings, which is a sister paper of the Mail Tribune.

Klamath County authorities say a Henley High School teacher is accused of inappropriately touching a female student.

Jason Stubbs pleaded not guilty Tuesday afternoon to sexual abuse, harassment and official misconduct. The 27-year-old is scheduled to be back in court for a hearing in mid-April.

The Klamath County School District has placed him on administrative leave for the remainder of the year.

A former high school teacher at Grand View Baptist Church in Beaver Creek was sentenced Monday, Jan. 7, to 27 months in federal prison after he admitted in October that his computer held hundreds of child pornography images.

Justin Michael Gillen, 26, of Oregon City, pleaded guilty Oct. 22 in federal court to a child pornography possession charge. He was arrested in July 2006 at his Warner Milne Road apartment after federal agents served a search warrant for his computer and found at least 266 child pornography images, most of them depicting sex acts between young boys and adult men.

U.S. District Chief Judge Ancer L. Haggerty ordered Gillen to serve three years on federal supervised release following the completion of his prison term. He was further ordered to forfeit his personal computer seized from his residence by FBI agents.
