former area Aiken County school teacher, still on probation after pleading guilty in 2006 to making unwanted advances on a young girl, is back in jail.
This time he is charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to investigators. Joel L. Bedenbaugh, 46, was at his Camden home this weekend when he was arrested. He is accused of sexually assaulting a girl at a Marion Street address between 2003 and 2005. At the time, the girl was less than 11 years old, police said.
In the interest of victim confidentiality, police said little about the allegations of sex abuse, only that the victim's mother came to police a few weeks ago after she learned about the allegations.

 A female middle school teacher in Goose Creek has been accused of having sex with a teenage girl.
Thirty-one-year-old Kanesa Hopkins is being held on 300-thousand dollars bail on five sex-related charges. Hopkins recently had been named teacher of the year at Westview Middle School.
She's accused of having a sexual relationship with a former student several years ago. An affidavit states the sexual incidents occurred at both Hopkins' and the alleged victim's residences. The statement says Hopkins also was the girl's Sunday school teacher.

A male teacher turned himself in Wednesday after he was accused of sexual conduct against a 14-year-old female.
The teenager told a Colleton County school nurse on May 28 that she had been sexually assaulted by 42-year-old Ralph Waye, a Colleton County High School math department employee. A school resource officer was contacted and the investigation began.
According to the Colleton County Sheriff's Office, the victim was not a student at the school where he was employed and the incident as reported did not take place on school grounds.
Waye was arrested and charged with one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and one count of lewd act with a minor.

Timothy Lynn Brumit, an English teacher at Batesburg-Leesville High School in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina has reportedly been charged in federal court with distributing child pornography and soliciting sex from a minor over the Internet.
Brumit was snared in an on-line sting operated by Dumfries, Virginia Police. A sting in which a police officer was posing as a 13-year-old boy. The officer indicated that during the on-line conversations between himself and Brumit that the man sent to him numerous pictures and vidoes of young boys engaged in various sexual acts.

On June 9, 2008 Beaufort police officers took a report of a possible sexual assault of a 15 year old boy by an adult male. The investigation revealed that 25-year-old Eric Lamar Parker of Port Royal had been in contact with a 15-year-old boy on the internet through myspace.
A meeting was arranged where Parker picked the boy up and took him shopping for clothes in Savannah. Later, the two checked into a motel in Beaufort where sexual activity took place. Investigators arrested Parker on June 12th and have charged him with Committing a Lewd Act on a Minor and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. A search warrant was served on his residence, and his computer was seized as evidence. Parker is a teacher at Hardeeville High School, and his bond has been set at $100,000.

Raleigh police arrested a Sanderson High School teacher on Monday for taking indecent liberties with a student. Police say the charge stems from offenses over the weekend with teacher Shannon Lynn Best and an 18-year-old student.
Authorities are continuing to investigate whether or not any other offenses took place at other times. Even though the victim is over the age of consent, the concern is that she is a student.

She was hired to help educate Lowcountry students. Instead Janet Fackovec admitted she helped a runaway teen hide out.
Fackovec plead guilty to two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The former Stall High school teacher's aide admitted in court on Wednesday that a student, recently released from a detention center and placed in a group home, last year, told her he wasn't happy at home and wanted to run away.

A Forest Circle Middle School teacher has been arrested on sex charges and accused of having a relationship with a student.
Tracy Lee Judy, 36, is charged with criminal solicitation of a minor and two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, Colleton County Sheriff George A. Malone said.
Judy was arrested Friday morning at the school. A search warrant was served at the school and his residence for computers, Malone said. He said the charges stem from a relationship Judy had with a 15-year-old female student.

Horry County police charged 32 year old Ralph Marcell Hough with criminal sexual conduct with a minor and performing a lewd act on a minor last summer.
Hough, a special needs teacher at Socastee High School, stood charged with performing sex acts on a 15 year old student, trusted in his care.
Investigators said the acts occurred from January 2007 through June 2007, at Hough's Myrtle Beach apartment.
Prosecutors agreed to drop the CSC charges against Hough in exchange for a guilty plea to the lewd act charge, a plea that could have sent Hough to prison for up to 15 years.
Assistant Solicitor, Scott Graustein, told the court Hough confesses to investigators that he "simulated" oral sex acts on the boy, but Hough told investigators he never actually carried those acts out.

A former Batesburg-Leesville High teacher has pleaded guilty in a case involving a "minor" and child pornography. Timothy Lynn Brumit, 48, of Aiken, has pleaded guilty to attempting to entice a person he believed to be a 13-year-old boy to engage in illicit sexual conduct and to transporting child pornography, via the Internet. Brumit will be sentenced on June 6, 2008.
He faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years and a maximum sentence of life on the child enticement charge. Brumit faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum sentence of 20 years on the child pornography charge. Upon his release from incarceration, Brumit will remain under court supervision for a term of at least five years to life. Brumit also will be required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction in which he lives, works, or attends school. According to court documents and proceedings, between January 2 and January 23, 2008, Brumit used “Hello.com” to communicate with a person whom he believed to be a 13-year-old boy located in Stafford, Virginia.
