A teacher at a Dothan private school was arrested and charged with allegedly stealing from her students. 25-year-old Hollie Faircloth of Newton is charged with two counts of theft of property and one count of theft by deception.
Investigators say she took a designer back-pack and a designer bag left on the floor next to the lockers of students at Northside Methodist Academy in Dothan. Investigators with the Houston County sheriff's department say security cameras helped solve the crime. Faircloth is also accused of collecting money from students for a mission in Jamaica without permission from school officials. She bonded out of the county jail on $900 bond

George Krenz
01-18-08

The Hot Springs teacher who had sexual contact with a student after giving them alcohol is going to prison. George Krenz told the judge today he was sorry, that what he did was wrong and that he deserved to be punished. But the judge still gave him the maximum sentence: 15 years in prison.
Even after George Krenz' wife of nine and a half years told the court he was her greatest gift from God, a judge decided not to show any mercy for the man who took advantage of his students.
"I feel that there will be healing for the community and hopefully it will get his attention so that this never happens again," says state's attorney Lance Russell.
Five people took the stand to tell the judge how Krenz hurt them, including two of his victims, one set of parents and the other's sister. One of his victims said Krenz was her favorite teacher before he exploited her trust. His friends and family are saddened by the long sentence but even more confused about why the Hot Springs teacher committed the crimes in the first place.

Stanton Day
07-09-07
The Meade County school bus driver charged in March with molesting a 10-year-old girl pleaded guilty Monday to having sexual contact with the girl.
Stanton Day, 65, of Summerset pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual contact with a child younger than 16 and three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Day admitted the sexual contact took place on two occasions between September 2006 and March 2007. In exchange for Day’s plea, Meade County State’s Attorney Jesse Sondreal dismissed six counts of first-degree rape. Fourth Circuit Judge Warren Johnson set a bond for Day of $15,000 cash or surety. If he bonds out, Day must be constantly supervised by his wife or two sons and can have no contact with anyone younger than 16 except for family members.
